 April 15th: Easter Egg Hunt on the Square

Children through the 5th grade search far and wide around the Historic Court House for hidden eggs. **There is no need to arrive early. The hunt will not begin until 11:00 a.m. sharp. ** We will gather for announcements and then allow the kids to begin the hunt! Please be sure to be courteous and kind to one another. 🙂
There will be 4 age groups:
Ages 1-2
Ages 3-5
Ages 6-8
Ages 9-11

April 27th: Hidden Spaces, Secret Places Tour

If you’ve even been curious about some of the historic buildings in Downtown Sidney, this is an event you won’t want to miss! The event will feature both finished and unfinished spaces. Tickets go on sale on April 1st!


May 27th – October 14th: The Great Sidney Farmer’s Market

Join us every Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to Noon! The market is “the place to be” on Saturday mornings throughout the season.  Crafters offer a large variety of homemade items, and farmers bring their freshest produce to tantalize your taste buds.  Fresh baked goods and jams and jellies are always a crowd pleaser.  Plants and flowers are abundant.  Shop early for your best selection!

June 16th:  Summer Third Friday Fling – S.C.A.R.F.  Supply & Can Drive

Join us as we celebrate the work of S.C.A.R.F. and the Shelby County Animal Shelter. Bring the kids to meet Scarfie! We will also have a food/supply and aluminum can drive to support S.C.A.R.F. You can check out www.helpshelbycountyanimals for more information on needed items.

June 24th: Kids Around the Square

We partner with United Way agencies, non-profit organizations, businesses & churches to provide a free morning of FUN for children ages 12 & under.

July 21st:  Summer Third Friday Fling-Kick Off to the Great Downtown BBQfest

Join us for great food & music and a movie on the Square!

July 22nd: The Great Downtown BBQfest

Join us in celebrating our community’s best cooks and music! Judges will sample pork ribs, pulled pork and BBQ chicken legs. Cook-Off Teams will be able to sell to the public so everyone can get in on the fun! The regular Farmer’s Market begins at 8:00 a.m. BBQ vendors will begin selling their food at 11:00 a.m.

August 1st: National Night Out

Over 37.8 million people in more than 16,000 communities will join forces to promote police-community partnerships; crime, drug & violence prevention; safety; and neighborhood unity. Find us on the square for activities, food and a movie at dusk.

August 5th: Chalk the Walk

Rent a sidewalk square for a donation and create your masterpiece! Chalk will be provided. A panel of judges will choose a winner and that person will receive a prize!

August 18th: Summer Third Friday Fling– The Amazing Downtown Race

Teams race through downtown for a chance to win great prizes! **Clue sheets are passed out at 5:55 p.m.** Teams of 4, (registration is required) on the NORTH side of the Court Square. All team members must be age 21 and over. ** Prizes will be awarded to the top teams. A family-friendly scavenger hunt will also be available.

September 9th : Taste of the Market

Grab one of our passport books to sample great items on your way around the square. After you have completed your passport, turn it in for a chance to win a great prize!

September 8th: Annual Downtown Chocolate Walk

Join us as we tour downtown businesses while enjoying samples of delicious chocolate treats! Tickets are $15.00 each and go on sale on August 1st. Tickets are limited. This is an 18 and up event.

September 28th: Open Air Dinner on the Square

Patrons will gather for an elegant dinner on the square

October 14th  Fall Festival/Closing Day of The Great Sidney Farmer’s Market

Ghosts, goblins, superheroes and princesses will gather downtown for a costume contest and activities! A costume contest for ages 0-12 years will be held with registration from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with the contest beginning at 11:00 a.m. Visit Amos Memorial Public Library, Ron & Nita’s & Amos Memorial Public Library for more fun! Some participating downtown businesses will also pass out candy.

October 28th: Murder/Mystery Dinner Theatre

Come join us for a fun filled evening of murder, mayhem, and delicious food! Doors open at 6:30 p.m., dinner begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will go on sale on September 1st.

November 17th: Winter Wonderland Parade

See our downtown all dressed up for the holidays and enjoy a wonderful evening parade, complete with Santa & Mrs. Claus! The Reason for the Season Lighting Ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. with the parade stepping off at 7:30 p.m. We ask that all spectators remain on the sidewalk during the parade for everyone’s safety.

December 2nd: Christmas of Yesteryear, Times Vary

Enjoy the sights, tastes & sounds of a Historic Downtown Sidney Christmas, complete with horse & carriage rides. It’s a great time to shop local and finish up those Christmas lists too! Check out our flyer, closer to the event!
